New Products Coming

Hey there readers…

So I splurged on Ebay a little bit and am now waiting for my new products…  I purchased a VGA splitter cable – which splits the plug from my PC and alows me to plug two monitors into the computer.  and I also bought a Wireless extender which plugs into a USB and increases my Mac’s Wireless range up to 4x!

Here are the sites to see the proucts:

http://tiny.cc/VVRo9 –  Wireless Adapter

http://tiny.cc/bXtyp –  VGA Splitter

I am very excited to get these new products.  and heres why…

VGA Splitter – I have an old monitor and have always wanted to set upt two monitors to my one computer.  I will be able to move things around and watch videos all with more space available to me.

Wireless adapter – I like to download and I like fast internet so by extending m range and increasing the MBPS I will be able to have this speed and preformance!  Wahoo!

I will post again when I have my new toys!

Tiny Notebooks: Size Matters, A review of the Dell Inspirion 10″ Netbook

Being new at University I quickly noticed the brand new tiny little dell and toshiba notebooks being used in my classes.  I will now give my reaction to these little monsters.

Size

There is no arguing with the size of these notebooks. They are so light and very easy to transport from class to class… but you pay the price.  I find that a 10inch screen, like the dell inspirion, is far too small and the resolution makes everything online and written look maginfied.  I couldn’t bare myself to have to stare at a screen that small for hours on end.

Battery power

A common misconception with these computers is that they must have an ultra-long battery life, this is not the case.  you are lucky to get these little devils to last a whole 3 hours let alone any longer.  My advice, sit near a plug and be ready.

Speed

THe processor is 1.60 Gigahertz.  Enough said.  While this is not horrible it really wont do you any real good.  I wouldn’t dare have more than one application running at once with this pitiful little computer.

Space

One thing I was suprised about was the space this little computer can store.  I have a Dell Inspirion desktop at home and these 10 inch dell inspirion notebooks can hold about half of my desktop’s space!  This is impressive for it’s tiny size.  It holds about 160 GB but I would strongly recomend not filling this up as it will greatly decrease the speed of your computer.

Conclusion

Buy a macbook.  These little machines are too small, to dainty, and very difficult to get used to.  If you have been spoiled with quick internet, large space, and large screen size, you will hate this little bug of a computer.  I do not recommend these types of notebooks.

My New Computer

I am completely thrilled to write this new post all about my new christmas gift…

MY NEW MACBOOK!!!

I got this gift for christmas and boy what a shock this thing is. I have always been a PC person and never thought I could love a Mac like this…I was wrong

Hardware

This computer is fast, really fast. the processor is a 2.20 gighertz, which is 0.20 faster than my desktop at home. The keyboard is comfortable, not loud and very versatile.

The coolest thing I like to play with is the trackpad. If anyone has seen the new magic mouse from mac then they will understand what this little trackpad can do. clicking and moving around like normal is one finger. and if you click with two fingers, it treats it as a right click. You scroll quikly through pages by draging two fingers and you can also flip through photos by flicking side to side.

Software

Completely set up when shipped this computer came with iLife installed, along with the important things like safari, iCalendar, adressbook…ect. I use all these programs very often and enjoy how nice they work and how fast they start up.

Screen

The screen is bright and very vibrant. THe keyboards top row of buttons have many quick buttons including a brightness control. The screen on my computer is 13 inches, which is small but the resolution size is large so I am able to have spaced out files. The graphics are very good and clear.

Portability

This computer is very light and easy to take from place to place. I take it to and from school every day and it hasn’t given me any problems. the battery life, although they say it is about 7 hours, it actually runs for about 5 hours when you are actually working on it. But this is all easily tracked since it can tell you how much time is left for the battery.

Conclusion

This computer is my new very special toy. I use it to watch movies, play a few games, and for schoolwork. It is light and very good for battery power. I am so in love with this new computer and recommend it to anyone, whether they are Mac or PC users, this computer is for you!
